Seven Bear Dens, One Bennett Family

Seven Dens, One Bennett Family

At our school, we have implemented a house system, modeled after Ron Clark’s Houses, to enhance the educational experience and foster a positive school culture. Research shows that such systems promote a strong sense of belonging, responsibility, and teamwork among students. By participating in a House system, students are encouraged to build unity and pride within their Den while also learning from their mistakes in a supportive environment.

Why a House system?

The Bear Den (house) system aims to cultivate a sense of belonging, encourages personal growth, and promotes teamwork and positive interactions among students

Each Den has a unique identity, color and set of values. This system sets clear expectations of behaviors from students and when students follow the “Bear Way” they have the ability to earn rewards and privileges both individually and as a Den!

How are children assigned Dens?

When your child comes to Bennett, they will be assigned a Den. They will stay in their Den for their entire time at Bennett ES.

Each Wednesday we encourage the students to wear their Den colors as a Den Spirit Day and each week a few students will be chosen to do a Den challenge, a chance to earn Den Points! Each Friday we encourage the students to wear Bennett spirit wear to celebrate our Bennett family.

Our Den system provides opportunities for leadership to our 4th and 5th grade students as well.
