ABOUT
BENNETT
ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL |
The
original
Bennett
Elementary
building
was
constructed
in
1908
and
still
stands
today.
The
school
takes
its
name
from
the
original
landowner,
Dr.
Maitland
C.
Bennett.
In
1969,
a
"new
Bennett"
was
built
on
Stonewall
Road.
In
the
fall
of
1996,
the
third
and
current
building
was
opened
and
today
continues
to
serve
excellence
in
education.

Bennett
has
a
gifted
education
program
which
provides
gifted
services
to
eligible
Bennett
students
in
grades
K-5.
Classroom
teachers
are
supported
by
specialists
from
special
education,
gifted/talented,
group
and
individual
counseling,
art,
music,
physical
education,
and
information
management
and
technology
skills
development.

Bennett
provides
extra
physical
education
classes
for
students
to
improve
fitness
and
promote
wellness.
Bennett
also
conducts
a
grade-level
music
program
throughout
the
school
year

offers
an
extensive
Science
Fair

Art
Expo
yearly.

of
the
school.
